Overseas Student - PG/OR
If you are an overseas student, the landlord requires rent to be paid quarterly.
To assess your eligibility for quarterly rent payments, please provide one of the following:
Option 1 – Quarterly Rent
- Six months' consecutive personal bank statements (yours or your parents') showing that the account has maintained a minimum balance equal to three months' rent throughout the six-month period. The funds must be immediately accessible (i.e. not held in stocks, shares, or investments).
- For example, if the monthly rent is £1,170, the account must show a minimum balance of £3,510 throughout the six-month period.
- Alternatively, you may provide a scholarship, student loan, or grant letter confirming that you have sufficient funding to cover your tenancy. Please note this is also subject to the minimum proof of funds requirement above.
Option 2 – Full Rent Upfront
- Six months' consecutive personal bank statements (yours or your parents') showing that the account has maintained sufficient funds to cover the full rent for the tenancy throughout the six-month period. The funds must be immediately accessible (i.e. not held in stocks, shares, or investments).
- For example, if the monthly rent is £1,170, the account must show a minimum balance of £14,040 (£1,170 × 12) throughout the six-month period.
If the required funds are held in your parents' account (for either option), they must also provide:
- Written confirmation (an email is acceptable) confirming they will financially support your rent payments.
- Proof of ID showing their name and date of birth (e.g. passport or driving licence).
- Proof of address issued within the last 3 months.
